Ascent of the Cornetto

From Monte Cornetto (1631 m) there is a wonderful panorama which on its own makes the hard work of the ascent worthwhile.

This is a real ascent reaching a significant altitude and so you certainly need strong legs. The point of departure is Folgaria Est where you take the road towards Costa.

Before reaching the village turn left onto the public road that leads to La Pineta sports field. Before reaching the sports field, follow the signs for the path that climbs the south side of Monte Cornetto.

From here you climb steeply in spruce forest until you reach Rifugio Paradiso.

An enjoyable descent goes through Malga Cornetto to Passo del Sommo.

Here you turn right and descend for about 300 m on the SS350 road towards Folgaria. Turn left into the minor road that descends to Maso Spilzi, going through the Golf Course, along the perimeter of the Ecken Biotope, and past the Santuario della Madonna delle Grazie (sixteenth century) to reach Folgaria from the east.
