Folgaria is located in the Alpe Cimbra area, which also includes Lavarone, Luserna and Vigolana, and is truly one of the ideal places for cycling excursions, whether by mountain bike or by racing bikeThe Alpe (at around 1200-1300 m) has acceptable slopes and the territory is impeccably cared for.
On the well-maintained roads, traffic is light, and as soon as you leave the streets the silence is broken only by the birdsong.
The Alpe still bears the signs of the Great War, the First World War of 1915-18. mountain bike trails (and also cross-country skiing) follow many of the paths traced (often with stone walls) by Italian and Austro-Hungarian soldiers. Truly fascinating are the remains, sometimes in excellent condition, of the Forti, or stone fortifications that were used as command posts for war operations, as outposts, or as shelters for soldiers from both sides in the field. It is along this route that a mountain bike classic has been held for years: the 100 km of the Forts.

The Alpe Cimbra (Folgaria, Lavarone, Lucerne) is beloved by cycling enthusiasts. All two-wheeled disciplines (mountain biking, e-biking, cycle touring, road cycling, fat biking) find in this area, one of the largest mountain pastures in Europe, the ideal setting for fun and satisfying pursuits.
Mountain Bike Trails
Folgaria MTB stands for 100km of the Forts. This race, founded in 1995, features a thrilling route that initially spanned 100km (later reduced to 90km), winding past numerous Great War fortifications near the route.
Over the years, Lavarone has become the current hub of the event, and the race route has evolved. Various year-round routes have been created, all beautifully marked, and can be tackled at a leisurely pace or with tenacity, always immersed in the silence and lush forest of the Trentino Alps.
